Forgot to Carry your Driving License or RC? These Apps Can Help You Avoid Challans

You will no longer have to pay a ticket for forgetting to take your license and RC. As license and RC cards are authentic documents, it is a problem if they get damaged or lost while carrying them. A solution to that is the M Parivahan application released by the Ministry of Road Transport. Your driving license and vehicle registration information is available as a digital document on the M Parivahan app.

It is an authentic document that can be shown in front of police authorities and security personnel during vehicle checks. Under the Revised Motor Vehicle Act, 2019, the Kerala Police has proposed to accept documents in electronic format.

How to use the app

After downloading the app (the link to download the app is given below), enter the mobile number and sign in. Verify the account by entering RunP.

Enter your name and other information in your profile.

At the bottom of the app’s dashboard, you will find the Create Virtual RC and Create Virtual DL options.

How to Add RC Book

Click the Create Virtual RC button to get the RC information in the app.

Enter your vehicle number in the search bar above.

Then you will see the registration details of the said number. Click the Add to Dashboard button to add it to your app’s dashboard.

Then you will be asked to verify RC.

In this enter the last four digits of your chassis number and engine number. The RC information must have arrived on your dashboard.

This RCM Parivahan can also be shared with another user. For that, just click the share button on the dash board towards the RC and enter the phone number.

How to Add Driving License

For that click Create Virtual DL button below the dashboard.

Enter your driver’s license number in the search bar at the top of the page that opens.

You can see the information on the number you provided.

Enter your date of birth and verify it to add it to the dashboard.

The license information along with your image will be available in the app.

If you click on the Dashboard button above, you will see Virtual RC and Virtual Driving License. Click on them and the QR code will be displayed. Just take a screen shot of it and run it on the window of the car. During a vehicle inspection, the officer can scan it and get the information…or, just show it on a mobile phone.

Similar to this is the DG Locker application released by the Union IT Ministry. Documents issued by various government institutions in different states of the country including RC, driving license and insurance documents are available in DG Locker.

Any number of vehicles in one’s own name or for one’s own use can be added to the Emparivahan app on a mobile. This means that a virtual RC can be added to the husband’s mobile phone to show the vehicle in his wife’s name when he drives it. Likewise, the information of the same vehicle or license can be added to multiple mobiles.
